The summer months are often hot and dry, making it suitable for any golf enthusiast. This course also offers plenty of activities that can be enjoyed by the entire family. While golfing is the activity of focus, leisure and comfort are not neglected either. The facility encompasses three golf courses in total, all of which are ranked in the top 20 of Golf Digest’s best golf courses in the country. The courses are designed in collaboration with South Africa’s all-time great golfer, Gary Player.
Bells and Whistles Additions
The incorporation of a golf academy has encouraged the game among younger players, pushing them to achieve the best results. A practice range is available for players who need to work on their swing. Perfecting it before hitting the main course is paramount. An open air and closed driving range, as well as bunker and chipping practice areas, can be found in the area opposite the tennis courts at Fancourt. This course has no age limit if the interest and enthusiasm for the game is there, then the facilities can be used. The on-site pro shop stocks everything a golfer could wish for, namely, clubs, balls, accessories, and clothing can be found.
Tournaments At Fancourt
While Fancourt may well be considered a holiday destination, the courses have played host to many tournaments through the years. The Dimension Data Pro-Am Golf Tournament was moved to the Fancourt Golf Estate in 2010. The Fancourt Amateur open is not a professional tournament, however, it provides amateurs with tournament experience and a chance to grow and learn. Possibly the most famous of the events to take place here is the Sunshine Tour. The tournament is a men’s professional golf tour which is based in the country.
